7Canaries is a good audio converter focussed on the file conversion to MIDI format. It spports several audio formats, such as MP1, MP2, MP3, MPP, MPA, AIF, SND, AU, WAVE and audio CD.

It also includes a real-time mode which lets you record as midi the sounds played in real time by using the audio input or the microphone.

You can choose among a list of more than 100 instruments, so the conversion will suit your needs. We recommend you to use instrumental songs, because the result is better.
